Cardinal FlowerText Box: CARDINAL FLOWER (Lobelia cardinalis) Gorgeous, slender plant. Crimson flowering spikes. Reddish leaves. Grows to 36”. Prefers moist soil. Flowers bloom later in the summer and into the fall. Weather permitting marginal and bog plants are shipped mid March through September OUR MARGINAL AND BOG PLANTS ARE EITHER IN 2 INCH POTS OR BAREROOT Fuller plants available in 4 inch pots, must purchase 3 minimum Depending on the weather, marginal and bog plants are ready to ship in March. Keep in mind we are in zone 5 and our plants are just coming out of dormancy in the early spring. This means that the plants will not be a full or awake as they will be later in the season. The most important thing to remember is that the root system is healthy. Unless other wise stated the hardy marginal and bog plants will winter over in zone 5 however, keep in mind each pond has its own micro environment, so they may do fine in Zone 3 & 4.
